LE ROY "LEE" GIBBONS, associate director of development at Brigham Young University, has been selected by the National Society of Fund Raising Executives and one of 30 administrators to participate in the second annual Executive Leadership Institute in Indianapolis. CLARENCE PHILLIPS has been named an employee of the month by the Seven Peaks Resort. A security officer at Seven Peaks Resort, he was nominated for his ability to function in strenuous security situations and for his willingness and compassion to go the extra mile with guests and co-workers. Seven Peaks Resort Excelsior Hotel employee ONDRA WHITTLE has been named employee of the month. Whittle, the hostess at Mingles Restaurant, was nominated for her hard work and dedication in seeing that clients are taken care of and receivre quality service. STEPHANIE STUDDERT has been appointed a payge in the U.S. Senate by Sen. Jake Garn. She will serve through February at the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. Her duties include delivering legislative messages for senators, preparing the chamber for sessions and carrying bills and amendments to the president of the Senate. Orem Public Works Department employee GORDON THAYNE has received the city's quarterly "Employee Values Award." The award was instituted by the City Council two years ago to recognize employees who exemplify the city's values. He has been an employee of the city for 24 years. ERNEST R. "ERNIE" SUMMERS has received the Walter Orem. He has been active in community affairs and has given freely of his time and talent in service to the Senior Citizens, SCERA organization and the Orem Lions Club.
