The Salt Lake Golden Eagles got a big road win over the Phoenix Roadrunners Friday night winning 6-5 in a shootout.

The Eagles went ahead 2-0 on goals by Sergei Priakin and C.J. Young in the first period. The Roadrunners retaliated by scoring the next two goals of the game. The first a power-play shot from Jeff Rohlicek in the first period and the second by Bill O'Dwyer to open up the third.Phoenix went up 3-2 when Sylvain Couturier slapped in a shot over Eagles' goalie Warren Sharples. The two teams added one more goal apiece in the second period.

The Roadrunners scored again to start the third period when Courturier got his second score of the game. Salt Lake's Andrew McKim notched his 29th goal of the season at the 16:15 mark. Salt Lake's Rich Chernomaz knotted the score at 5-5 with a slapshot from just inside the blue line.

The teams went to overtime, but neither managed a goal. In the shootout, Sergei Priakin and Core Lyons scored on Gosselin, while Warren Sharples stopped all four Phoenix shooter.

The Eagles improved their record to 47-27-5.
