Julie Parisien of Auburn, Maine, last week's surprise World Cup giant slalom winner, won the slalom Friday in the North American Championship Series at Attitash ski area.

Parisien, who fell in Thursday's giant slalom, covered the 59-gate course in a combined 1 minute, 36.16 seconds over corn snow.Stefanie Schuster of Austria was second in 1:36.71 and Gabriela Zingre of Switzerland third in 1:36.72.

Other top American finishers were Wendy Fisher of Incline Village, Nev., 13th; Kristina Koznick of Apple Valley, Minn., 15th; Carrie Sheinberg of Port Washington, N.Y., 19th; Shannon Nobis of Park City, Utah, 22nd, and Tasha Nelson of Buckhill, Minn., 25th.

The NorAm series is a level below the World Cup.
