Charges: Aggravated burglary of a dwelling, a first-degree felony, and criminal mischief, a third-degree felony.Renaldo Kordell Bonds was arrested in December 1989 after police said he forced his way into the apartment of his ex-girlfriend. Once inside, he tore up the apartment, hit the woman over the head with a clock radio and continued to assault her by choking her around the neck, throwing her down and kicking her.

Police reports say Bonds also threatened to shoot the victim's mother. Two days earlier, he used a brick and a metal rod to inflict more than $1,000 damage to his ex-girlfriend's car because she would not come out of the house and talk to him, court documents state.

A charge of aggravated burglary was dropped in exchange for Bonds' guilty plea to criminal mischief. He was sentenced to zero to 5 years in prison, but the sentence was suspended upon completion of one year of probation. Probation required him to leave Utah, pay restitution and have no contact with his ex-girlfriend or her family.

But court records indicate he violated all aspects of his probation and he failed to appear for a court hearing. A warrant was issued for his arrest. He is believed to have moved back to Salt Lake City in July.
