A stoplight, destined to be the furthest one west in Davis County, has been approved by the Utah Department of Transportation for the city.

The light will be installed at 1000 West and 1700 South (Syracuse Road). However, UDOT has a long waiting list and Syracuse Mayor DeLore W. Thurgood expects it to be about three years before the light becomes a reality.Another intersection at 2000 West and 1700 South does not have enough traffic to warrant a stoplight at this time.
