Large trash bins for spring cleanup activities will be provided to areas throughout West Jordan during April, city officials have announced.

"This program was very successful last year and numerous requests have been made to continue the program this year," said Bob Davis, director of public works.The trash bins will be located at:

Old city shop, 2200 W. Sugar Factory Road, April 1-30.

Dixie Park, 6400 S. Kentucky Drive; Constitution Park, 3300 W. 7000 South; and Colonial Park, 6900 S. 2000 West, April 1-7.

Fire Station No. 25, 7839 S. 2700 West; Jordan Meadows Park, 7400 S. 2350 West; and Meadow Green Farm Park, 2975 W. 8565 South, April 8-14.

Brown's Meadow Park, 2450 W. 9160 South; 9000 S. 1300 West area; and Pioneer Hall, 1200 W. 7800 South, April 15-21.

Purple Hills, 3675 W. Old Bingham Highway; Jordan Highlands, 8250 S. 4800 West; and Public Works Complex, 8030 S. 4000 West, April 22-30.

Also, the city will be issuing discount passes to the landfill, permitting residents to dump trash for 50 cents a load rather than $2.50 during April.

And recycling centers for newspapers have been opened at 7855 S. 4000 West and 7750 S. 1700 West; and for aluminum, 1600 W. 7800 South.
