A geoscientist will lecture at the University of Utah about how people are changing the environment.

William S. Fyfe, a Sterling M. McMurrin Distinguished Visiting Professor, will lecture at 7:30 p.m. on April 4 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. The public is invited."The earth's oil supply, at the rate people are using it, could be gone in 10 years," Fyfe said. "Natural resources are quickly being depleted, and we've got to start being much more careful about the way we're using energy."

Fyfe is a former dean of the faculty of science at the University of Western Ontario. He has won numerous international awards for his work, including Canada's highest civilian award, Companion of the Order of Canada.
