American Fork resident and Boston Marathon winner Curtis Brinkman was treated at and released from a Utah County hospital after his car rolled on I-15 Wednesday.
Brinkman, 37, was northbound when he lost control of his car and plowed into concrete barriers near the median at the 400 North exit to Orem.Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. John Moon said Brinkman swerved to avoid a collision with a car that had braked in front of him.
Brinkman's car rolled onto its roof after hitting the barriers, Moon said.
He was taken to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and treated for cuts and abrasions, a nursing supervisor said.
Brinkman won the wheelchair division of the Boston Marathon in 1980. He also served a four-year term on the American Fork City Council. He currently serves on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Young Men General Board.
