More than 50 Utah businesses and organizations are planning a day of honor and information for military personnel and their families Saturday, March 30, in the Salt Palace.

Jan Bates, Questar Corp., said "Project Homefront" will be the largest celebration of its kind in the nation.In addition to honoring Operation Desert Storm military personnel and their families, information about counseling, finances, public and private assistance programs and other related subjects will be provided, Bates said.

Sen. Jake Garn, R-Utah; Rep. Bill Orton, D-Utah, scheduled to speak at 4 p.m.

Bates said Utah businesses will contribute food, games, rides, gifts and prizes.

Due to security, invitations can only be issued to military families through the media, Bates said. "We sincerely hope every eligible family will know about and be able to participate in this event."
