Eight businessmen have been elected to three year-terms on the board of governors of the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and will start serving July 1.
Fred S. Ball, chamber president, said the new members are invited to attend board meetings in May and June as ex-officio members and will take their places during the first meeting in July.The new members will be working with R. Don Cash, president and chief executive officer of Questar Corp., who will become chairman July 1, replacing Mark Miller, president of Mark Miller Pontiac/Toy-ota/Subaru.
The new board members are Tim Howells, general manager of the Utah Jazz; J. James Peacock, executive director of the Utah Petroleum Assn. who has been on the board for the last two years serving an unexpired term of a person who resigned; Floyd A. Petersen, a partner with Deloitte & Touche; and J. Clark Robinson, general manager, officer and director of Lagoon Corp.
Others are Harris A. Simmons, president and chief executive officer of Zions Bancorporation; R. Anthony Sweet, president and chief executive officer of Sweet Candy Co.; Verl R. Topham, president and chief executive officer, Utah Power & Light Co.; and Frank Welton, general manager of the Red Lion Hotel.
