Two men have pleaded guilty to illegally selling computer equipment to the state of Utah, according to the FBI.
The two men were charged with selling Wang equipment and software to the state without informing Wang corporate headquarters. The men received the proceeds of these illicit sales and deposited them in two Salt Lake bank accounts.Wang officials were unaware of the bank accounts, which had total deposits of more than $100,000 from January through October 1986.
Allen Chournos, 40, of Layton, and Robert Deucher, 40, of Orem, each pleaded guilty to a single count of mail fraud. Chournos will be sentenced on May 16 and Deucher on June 5. A single count of mail fraud carries a maximum penalty of five years in jail and a $250,000 fine.
