Officials of the Kern River Pipeline Co. found it's much easier to get approval to run their natural gas pipeline through Utah County than it is Davis County.

County commissioners gave the company approval Monday to run its pipeline from an area near Camp Williams to the Juab County line southwest of Elberta. The pipeline, which will carry natural gas from Wyoming to Kern County, California, will travel through Utah County in mostly agricultural property west of Utah Lake. The 36-inch pipeline will carry 700 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.In Davis County the proposed pipeline is the subject of controversy. Some residents of Centerville and Bountiful object to the pipeline running along the Wasatch Mountains near their cities.

At Monday's public hearing in Provo no one voiced opposition to the proposal. Before approving the pipeline, commissioners said they have not received any negative feedback from residents about the pipeline.
