Ruth P. Koplin, 80, loving wife, mother, sister and especially a great grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, March 21, 1991.
Born January 3, 1911 in Salt Lake City to William Ballan and Emily Parkinson. Graduated from LDS High School. Waited for her future husband for four years while he was on a Church mission and gathering Koplin genealogy in Germany before returning home. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, November 29, 1933. She was always very active in Primary and Junior Sunday School callings. Served on the Stake Sunday School Board for four years. In their retirement, served a mission at Laie, Hawaii, and spent the future years traveling on Church history and temple tours all over the United States. Her main love in life was helping shy children become self-confident leaders. She was a great grandmother and loved by all her grandchildren and greatly missed by them.Survived by her husband, Henry; one son and daughter, Ronald Koplin and wife Sharon; all of Salt Lake City; and Norma Jenkins, wife of Joseph A. Jenkins, Provo; one sister, Mrs. Thryl J. (Virginia) Greer; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 25th, in the Ensign Fourth Ward, Ninth Avenue and K Street, at 12 noon. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Sunday evening 6-8 p.m. and at the Ward on Monday, 11-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
