Leone Forestine Slater, 88, died Wednesday, March 20, in a rest home in Redlands, California.

She was born April 12, 1902 in Topeka, Kansas, a daughter of Leland D. and Myrtle Woodburn Crease. She was an elementary school teacher in the Salt Lake City School District for over 20 years. She was a member of several social and fraternal organizations including: Mizpah Chapter #5, Order of the Eastern Star; the Bethlehem Shrine of the White Shrine of Jerusalem; Lybia Temple, Daughters of the Nile; and the Ladies Oriental Shrine. She also held membership in the Reviewers Club, the Ladies Literary Club, and the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. All of these organizations are in Salt Lake City.She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Jean S. Sagers, Salt Lake City; Dr. James M. Slater, Redlands, California; Donald A. Slater, Cherry Valley, California; and June S. Deatherage, China Lake, California; nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 1991 at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East First South, where friends may call Friday evening 7-8 p.m. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Funeral Directors: Evans & Early Mortuary.
