Dr. Joseph D. Halgren, age 75, died March 18, 1991 in Payson.
Born May 6, 1915 in Layton to Joseph and Sarah Alice Aldous Halgren. Married Berness Rawlins, November 18, 1945, in Los Angeles, California. In April 1973 their marriage was solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. She died May 12, 1990. Graduated in pharmacology and worked as a pharmacist for two years. Later attended University of Utah Medical School, graduating at the top of his class. Practiced in Richfield, Utah until 1970, when he moved to Provo to work in the emergency room at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. He retired from the Utah Public Health Dept after working there for five years. Member LDS Church. Member Phi Kappa Phi. Veteran World War II, where he served in the Merchant Marines.Survivors: two sons and one daughter, R. John Halgren, Denver, Colorado; J. Brad Halgren, Orem; Mrs. Ronald J. (Jan) Staheli, Provo; 13 grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Leon A. Halgren, Salt Lake City; David A. Halgren, Ontario, California; Mrs. Clint (Ann) Weist, Provo.
Funeral services Saturday, 11 a.m., at the Grandview Fourth Ward, 1060 North 850 West, Provo. Friends may call at the ward chapel Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment: Provo City Cemetery, under the direction of Berg Mortuary of Provo.
