Rick Bumcrot has been elected Exalted Ruler of the Richfield Lodge 2420 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the first time in several years that the position is filled by a member who has advanced through all of the chair offices.

During recent years, past Exalted Rulers have been called back to periodically assume the position of the Exalted Ruler in the lodge.Since joining the Elks organization in 1984, Bumcrot has served as innerguard, esquire, Lecturing Knight, Loyal Knight and Leading Knight at the Richfield Lodge. He is employed as a superintendent of operations at the Richfield Post Office.

Other elected officers are Roy Litkins, Leading Knight; Darel Crofts, Loyal Knight; Robert Burrell, Lecturing Knight; James Knowling, secretary; Albert Ricksecker Jr., treasurer; Kenneth Payne, trustee; and Donald Anderson, tiler.

The Exalted Ruler appointed Boyd Johnson chaplain and Hal Bradley, esquire. Holdover trustees are John Hales, Art Robinson, Harlan Stapel and DeMar Davis.

Bumcrot is a native of San Fernando Valley, Calif., graduating from high school in 1966. He spent four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown, worked in the aerospace industry for nine years, has operated his own business and was employed by the Southern Utah Fuel Co. before joining the U.S. Postal Service.
