Kerwin Bell threw five touchdowns Monday night to lead the Orlando Thunder to a 35-34 victory over the San Antonio Riders in the highest scoring game in the opening weekend of the WLAF.
San Antonio plackicker Teddy Garcia missed the tying extra point with 1:24 remaining after the Riders erased a 35-21 deficit in the fourth quarter.Backup quarterback Lee Saltz threw a 25-yard pass to John Garrett with 6:49 remaining and orchestrated a 71-yard drive that resulted in Umbra Johnson's five-yard run that made it 35-34.
The 69 combined points were more than the two previous high-scoring games put together.
