An Alpine man was killed and his two passengers injured early Saturday in a rollover near the east-side I-215 off-ramp at 4500 South.

The driver, Brandon H. Widdop, 20, 658 N. Hillside Circle, had left the southbound lanes of I-215 and was headed west on 4480 South at a high rate of speed when the car entered a gutter, then skidded sideways and rolled several times as Widdop tried to correct the steering, according to a police report.Widdop was ejected through the driver's door, and the vehicle came to rest on a fence. Two male passengers from Salt Lake County, Harry A. Paldukos and Mark W. Zaharis, both 21, were treated at St. Mark's Hospital for minor injuries.
