The estranged wife of Salman Rushdie says she and the author are divorcing after two years under the strain of a death decree by Iran's Ayatollah Ru-hollah Khomeini.

Marianne Wiggins, an American novelist, says Rushdie changed since having to go into hiding after his book "The Satanic Verses" was condemned as blasphemous toward Islam."He's a complete stranger to me now," Wiggins told the Sunday Express newspaper of London.
