James Sanford Borden, age 50, our loving husband, father, grandfather and one of God's most precious gifts to earth, was prematurely taken on March 19, 1991, of brain cancer.

Born in Winthrope, Washington to Mona Ruth Sanford and James Freeman Borden on June 11, 1940. Married Sandra Howard in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Sandy endured 18 months of suffering without complaint and with a dignity uncommon to man. Words do not adequately describe the kindness, gentleness and love Sandy had for all. He led an exemplary life to all, serving his Father-in-Heaven, his country and his fellow man in all he did. He was loved, respected and admired by everyone. Sandy was a High Priest in the LDS Church, serving many callings. He was Scout leader for 20 years. He also served as a temple worker. He graduated from Radio Institute and attended SUSC, and received a BS in electronics from the U. of U. He worked for U.S. West in different capacities for 30 years. Served in the U.S. Navy three years, and instructed electronics an additional 20 years at Fort Douglas Naval Reserve Security Group, retired honorably.

Sandy leaves his sweetheart and wife, Sandra; one daughter, Mrs. Ora (Tammy) Jaimson; four sons and daughters-in-law, Trent and Kathy, Tracy and Ann, Ty and Marlo, Trevor and Leanna; 12 grandchildren who meant the world to him; sister, Mrs. Lamoine (Ellen) McCashland, Pocatello; brother, Robert H.; mother-in-law, Della Howard; stepmother, Francis Borden, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by his mother and father, his best friend, fishing buddy and father-in-law, Isaac Ray Howard.

We are thankful to our Heavenly Father for allowing us to have learned from one so wise, thoughtful, compassionate and loving. All who knew him will mourn with us his passing.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 22, 1991, 10:30 a.m., at McDougal Golden Rule Funeral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Road. Interment, Goshen City Cemetery.
