Archie Hill Blanchard, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend to all, passed away at the age of 82, March 18, 1991.
He was born on August 8, 1908 in Logan, Utah, the eldest son of Henry and Cora Hill Blanchard. He married Fay Memmott Brenchley in 1932. They were later sealed together for Time and Eternity in the Logan Temple.He is survived by Fay, his wife of 59 years, of Bountiful; a daughter and son-in-law, Dixie and Bud Reim, Orem; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary H. and JoAnn Blanchard, Las Vegas, Nevada; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. Archie will be greatly missed by his many friends and extended family for his Christ-like example. He exemplified the saying: "There are no strangers here, only friends we haven't met". He was preceded in death by a infant son, Archie Dean; and two Brothers Vern and Keith Blanchard of Sacramento, California.
He graduated from Utah State University and worked for the United States Department of Agriculture for 37 years. He retired in 1973, Archie was an active High Priest in the Bountiful 31st ward and served in many ward and stake position, throughout his life. He proudly held a secretarial position with the Boy scouts of America, for 32 years.
Funeral services will be held Friday March 22, 1991, 11 a.m., Bountiful 31st Ward, 585 East Center, Bountiful. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main. Respects may also be paid friday at the church, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Graveside services will be held following services at 2:30 p.m. at the Logan City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Primary Children's Hospital.
