Sarah Dorothy Andersen Christensen, 89, died March 19, 1991 in a Spanish Fork care center.

She was born October 28, 1901, Maeser, Uintah Co., a daughter of Alma and Pamilla Harder Andersen. She married J.D. Christensen, June 7, 1922 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She had taught school for many years in Waddas, LaPointe and Benjamin, Utah schools. She was active in many civic affairs including the Red Cross; the PTA; Cultus Club; The Women's Legislative Council and sang in the LaNesta Chorus. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in the Relief Society, Sunday School, MIA and Primary organizations.She is survived by her husband, Payson; two daughters and three sons and their spouses, Clelia and J.R. Gardner, Laguna Beach, California; Paul G. and Bonnie Christensen, Salt Lake City; Kenneth G. and Lola Christensen, San Antonio, Texas; Sharil and Gale Holt, Spanish Fork; and Howard B. and Bonnie Christensen, Payson; 25 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren. A grandson; a brother, Gilbert Andersen and two sisters, Leola Shoemaker and Ruby Ross, all preceded her in death.

Services will be Friday, 11 a.m. in the Payson Park LDS Ward Chapel, 110 South 300 West. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Thursday 7-9 p.m. or at the church Friday, 10-10:45 a.m. The family suggest contributions to the Payson City Library in her name.
