Nick Zupan, age 83, died March 17, 1991 in Orem, Utah.

He was born November 22, 1907 in Bartlet, Yugoslavia to George and Filka Butkovich Zupan. Nick traveled to the United States with his mother at the age of seven, to join his father in Midvale, Utah. On June 30, 1929, he married Doris W. Malstrom in Midvale, Utah. Nick worked at the Midvale Smelter, Denver & Rio Grand Railroad, Geneva Steel, Utah County and Utah State Department of Highways as supervisor of District #6 in Utah County. He was a member of Damascus Lodge #10 Free and Accepted Masons, 32 Degree, Scottish Rite, Member of El Kalah Shrine, Central Utah Shrine Club and Valley Chapter #3 Order of Eastern Star. His hobbies were fishing and hunting. When he retired, Nick enjoyed traveling.Survivors: wife, Doris, Orem; sons, Wayne N. and wife, Jennifer, Tucson, Arizona; Raymond L. and wife, Irene, Salt Lake City; three granddaughters and three grandsons; four brothers and one sister, Dan, West Jordan; Steve, Midvale; Joe, Lehi; George and Katherine Coleman, both Sandy. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack; sister, Mary Simonich.

Public Masonic Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 21, 1991 at 11:30 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State St., Midvale, where friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital in Salt Lake City.
