John Reid Bowen, age 75, passed away on March 16, 1991 in the home of his daughter and son-in-law, of natural causes.
Born July 8, 1915 to John Andrew and Jennie Beatrice Reid Bowen. Married Evelyn Jean Gallacher on March 1, 1936; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death. He drove the first truck to cross the Boulder Dam while serving in the CCC. He worked for the railroad, and Kennecott Copper. He retired from American Oil Company. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Survived by a daughter, Mrs. Paul A. (Dorathy) LaLonde; two grandchildren, Melanie Edwards and John D. LaLonde; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen McCausland; and two brothers, Howard R. and Garrick R. Bowen.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 19th, at the Russon Brothers Mortuary Chapel, 255 South 200 East, SLC, where friends may call from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
