The Women, Infant and Children Program is accepting new clients through the Salt Lake City/County Health Department.
The program targets low-income pregnant women, nursing mothers and children through age 5 who are at nutritional risk. WIC provides supplemental foods high in protein, vitamins, iron and calcium as well as nutritional information.WIC has increased its participation in Salt Lake County to 15,000 recipients, while 41,000 women and children statewide receive aid. Utah's funding will permit 5,000 additional people to participate.
