Auditions have been scheduled for the following stage productions:

- PERIL OF THE DARK RIVER on Tuesday, March 26, at 7 p.m. at the Desert Star Playhouse, 4861 S. State St., Murray. Three positions (two women, one man) have yet to be filled in the musical melodrama. Bring a prepared musical selection and be ready to demonstrate dance movement and read from the script. An accompanist will be provided. Rehearsals begin April 6, with playdates set for May 17-July 13. All positions are paid.- STEEL MAGNOLIAS, on Thursday, March 28, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, March 30, at 9 a.m., and Tuesday, April 2, at 7 p.m., at the Heritage Theatre in Perry (south of Brigham City).

Six women are needed for the cast: a beauty shop owner in her 40s; her assistant, about 19; widow of the town's former mayor, 60ish; the prettiest girl in town, 25; the girl's mother, a socially prominent career woman, in her 50s, and a wealthy curmudgeon, mid-60s.

Rehearsals will begin the week of April 8, with performances scheduled on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays from May 31 to June 22.

- LOOK TO YOUR HEART, a new LDS Church-oriented musical comedy, on Friday, April 5, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, April 6, at 10 a.m. in the Provo High School commons area.

Dancers and actor/singers between the ages of 16 and 25 are encouraged to audition. Come prepared to sing with your own music. For dance auditions, please bring your own recorded music on a cassette tape.

Written by Randall and Sharon Crossette, the musical will run for several performances throughout the summer.
