A fire that apparently started on a patio late Friday afternoon caused at least $20,000 damage to the Douglas Green home at 1935 S. Sorrento Drive, Woods Cross, according to South Davis Fire District Chief Darrell Moss.

Nobody was home when crews arrived at about 4:15 p.m. Ten firefighters using two pumpers and two squad fast attack vehicles fought the fire for 10 minutes before it was under control. Moss said the fire was contained to the patio, carport, a tool shed and a portion of the kitchen, but there was extensive smoke damage to the home.No one was injured fighting the blaze, Moss said.
