It's the last home meet and the last chance to improve its Regional Qualifying Score for eighth-ranked Utah State (11-7), which meets 10th-ranked Arizona State (16-10) tonight at 7 in the Smith Spectrum.

The Aggies have had 11 days off from competition to polish details, and they'll have another two weeks after Saturday's meet before the NCAA Regional at Tucson April 6. "We have had a good week of practice, considering it is finals week," said Coach Ray Corn. The Aggies will try to improve upon their lowest-counting home score of 190.8 to improve their RQS, which is 191.43, just .04 out of the seventh ranking. The RQS is an average of a team's five best scores, including two road scores, and determines teams' seedings for the regional.

ASU's best score of the season is 194.05 recently. USU's high is 192.0.

The Aggies will be without Missy Edson, who had season bests of 9.75 on bars and 9.5 in floor exercise. Edson missed the last three meets and finally withdrew from gymnastics because, as Dr. Michael Edson says, "Missy has developed `chronic fatigue syndrome,' and is undergoing medical treatment."

USU is still the healthiest it's been this season, says Corn.

It's the last home meet for seniors Natalie Cannon, Julie Ryan and Michelle Godi. Julie Ryan and Stephanie Green (out for the season) have medical redshirt seasons available.
