The Davis Applied Technology Center is offering a job-training course to help prepare people for a number of jobs expected to be available in Davis and Morgan counties.

Called the "employee resource pool," the training program teaches basic workplace skills, such as math, critical thinking and problem solving.Students who complete the course are given job placement assistance. Several new companies locating in the Davis/Morgan area are expected to hire many employees from the program, said Greg Richins, director of customized training for economic growth.

Registration, which costs $20, is being accepted for the classes, which will be held in the afternoons and evenings from April 8 to May 24. The $98 tuition can be waived by completing a federal application. For more information, call the center, 546-2441, ext. 341.
