Consumers attending the Salt Lake Area Postal Customer Council Spring Mail Clinic can learn how to cut up to 5.7 cents off each first-class letter they mail.
The clinic is 9 a.m. Thursday, March 28, at the Salt Lake Hilton, 150 W. 500 South.The clinic, which is open to the public, offers six workshops taught by postal professionals and members of the mailing industries.
In addition to vendors displaying new products and services, clinic workshop topics include:
- Information on basic postal rates and services and what will benefit a customer the most.
- Participation in automation work-sharing programs such as ZIP+4 coding and pre-barcoding to reduce mailing costs.
- Eight ways to move your mail overseas.
- Mailroom security and precautions to use when handling mail.
The clinic cost is $10 for workshops only or $15 for the workshops and lunch; both fees increase by $2 if clinic participants register at the door. Early registration must be received by March 25. Checks should be made payable to the Postal Customer Council and sent to Salt Lake Area Postal Customer Council, PO Box 25432, Salt Lake City, UT 84125-0432.
Registration the day of the clinic will begin at 7:30 a.m. Workshops start at 9 a.m., with lunch at noon and the drawing for door prizes at 2:45 p.m. Vendor displays will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
