Chrysler Corp. Chairman Lee Iacocca apologized Friday for remarking in a recent interview that he is unable to find drug-free workers in Detroit - a comment that raised the ire of both city and union leaders.

"To say that I chose the wrong words in describing Detroit workers in my interview with Fortune magazine is an understatement," he said. "And I apologize for that, especially to those who work for Chrysler." Iacocca has been forced more than once to backpeddle because of his outspoken nature.
