Take the Grand Ballroom at the Marriott Hotel. Stir in one watercolor exhibition, sale and auction. Add soups, breads, desserts, soft drinks and such from Salt Lake's finest restaurants and bakeries. Blend well for an enchanted evening of art and soup from the Utah Watercolor Society and the Beehive Chefs Association. Yield: a much appreciated benefit for the Community Nursing Service/Hospice.

The third annual Celebration of Art and Soup is planned for Friday, March 29, from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Marriott Hotel. As guests sample delicious soups from restaurants like Nino's, Market Street Grill, the Sante Fe and Shenanigans, silent and oral auctions will feature the works of 26 local artists.Other restaurants participating are: The Plum, Salt Lake Hilton, Le Parisien, Upper Crust, Holiday Inn, Judge Cafe, Marriott, Red Lion, Little America, Baci Trattoria, Riverboat, Pierre Country Bakery, The Salt Lake Roasting Company, Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Kara's Chocolates and Dan's Food.

Corporate sponsors for the event are Hillhaven, KSTU-Channel 13 and KSL Radio.

Carolyn Hunter from Community Nursing Service/Hospice thinks the $10 ticket is a real deal. "It's an inexpensive night out. And there's nothing more calming than soup and watercolors!"
