The operator of a Roosevelt cosmetology and barber school has agreed to a five-year probation of her license to settle charges of unprofessional conduct, an order said.

Jane Alexander, owner and instructor at Jane's Cosmetology/Barbering School, must abide by several conditions during probation, including not allowing her husband to teach at the school or perform barbering services until he is licensed and certified to teach, the order said.Alexander's husband's involvement in the school was one of several violations regulators found, the order said. Students had registered complaints with the state Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.

Among the irregularities regulators listed were requiring students to perform janitorial duties for school credit, failing to provide adequate instruction and not keeping the facilities in a sanitary condition.
