Kendall Surfass has been appointed president of the Utah Health Insurance Association for 1991.

Membership in the association includes all major health insurance companies in Utah, which insure 650,000 state residents."While we are very much concerned about the ability of every Utahn to have access to affordable health care, our association is quite proud of the array of health insurance protection we offer to a substantial portion of our population," Surfass said. "We will continue to explore and enhance our role in health care financing."

Surfass is corporate counsel for Equitable Life and Casualty, a locally owned insurance firm in Salt Lake City, and was previously employed with the Utah Insurance Department.


"I think the unsung heroes are the American people, and the families and friends that supported us . . . . It really made a big difference in our performance."
