Capt. Mark Phillips, the estranged husband of Britain's Princess Anne, is facing a paternity claim by a New Zealand woman, the Daily Express reported Thursday.

Heather Tonkin claims her 5-year-old daughter, Felicity, was born nine months after she spent a night with Phillips in New Zealand in November 1984, the Daily Express reported.Tonkin, a horseriding enthusiast, first met Phillips in 1983 when she attended his riding clinic, it was reported. A year later they met again at a party for a local Olympic rider. Phillips asked for her telephone number and the following evening the alleged renedezvous took place, the Express said.

Tonkin, 37, has been receiving $13,300 a year from Phillips since 1986 in fees for acting as "a consultant on equestrian matters," the Daily Express reported. But she now wants legal acknowledgment that Phillips is the father.

Buckingham Palace would not comment on the report.
