Applications are being accepted for summer employment in the Youth Conservation Corps program at Bryce Canyon National Park.
Officials said application forms may be obtained by calling the park's headquarters at (801) 834-5332 or at offices of high school principals in Panguitch, Tropic and Escalante in Garfield County and in Circleville, Piute County. Applications may be mailed to the park at Bryce Canyon, UT 84717, and must be postmarked no later than April 15.Former YCC crew members are not eligible if they were previously enrolled for more than three weeks in the program. The work will be in the outdoors form June 3 through July 26 and will be geared toward teaching environmental awareness. Funding is available to hire only four applicants.
Youngsters who want to enroll in the program must be 15 years of age by June 1 and no older than 18 by Aug. 30. They must obtain medical certification indicating their physical and mental fitness for work, provide their own transportation to the Bryce Canyon maintenance area and have written consent from a parent or legal guardian.
