A new North Salt Lake City Post Office opened Monday at 345 N. U.S. 89. This facility replaces the old post office, located at 18 S. 100 East. North Salt Lake Mayor D.W. "Jake" Simmons cut the ribbon to open the new office.

According to postmaster Greg Jones, the office hours for the new facility will be Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m."The office will offer all postal services, including 700 post office boxes," Jones said, adding that applications for post offices boxes will be taken at the old post office until the new one opens.

The new post office will also feature plenty of parking, access for the handicapped and stamp vending machines in the lobby. It also has parcel lockers that enable customers to retrieve packages after window hours - 24 hours a day.

The new office is located in a more convenient location for North Salt Lake residents and it will operate as a branch of the Bountiful Post Office.
