Ray E. Jaeger, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, died March 14, 1991, in doing what he enjoyed the very most, being in the great outdoors.

Born January 16, 1915 in Sigurd, Utah, the son of Fredrick and Annie Moss Jaeger. He married Martha Mae Backus, April 18, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Salt Lake schools. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II, having served in three separate theatres of action. He was decorated five times for his outstanding heroism. Lifetime member of the DAV, having also served as a past commander and member for over 25 years in that organization. Member of the American Legion, he was the director of this association from 1946. He was a member of the Salt Lake County Fish and Game Association from 1936 to present. He was the only person to be given the honor of lifetime membership with them. He was a salesman for Duce Sporting Goods from 1957-1977. Manager of Hoffman Hardware. He was also a Community Block Leader with Community Services.Survived by wife, children, Ernie Jaeger, Kenneth C. and Patricia Jaeger, Judith and Robert Bowers, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, brother, Emil Jaeger, sister, Louise and William Lisonbee. Preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 So. Redwood Road, where friends and family may call on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and also on Wednesday one hour prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
