Ben Elias Adams, age 68, passed away Saturday, March 16, 1991, at this home of heart failure.

Born June 11, 1922 in Clearfield, Utah, a son of Edgar Fanning and Mabel Ella Knighton Adams. Married Alice Burnett, August 27, 1942 in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a Procurement Officer for the Defence Contract Service Administration, and took care of Speery Univac, Edo Western and Linton. He was a lifelong resident of Clearfield. Graduated from Davis High School, attended Weber State University. He was an active member of the Clearfield 1st LDS Ward. He served as an Elders Quorum President and Ward Executive Secretary, Stake Athletic Director and served a stake mission in the Clearfield Stake. He had been President of the Clearfield Kiwanis Club, served as secretary and treasurer. He served nationally for New Club Builder. Avid sportsman and was a friend to all. Veteran of World War II, served in Europe in the Infantry.Survived by wife, Clearfield; three sons, three daughters, Stanley Ben and wife, Verdeen, Syracuse, Utah; Gregory Burnett and wife, Cindy Adams, Layton; Jeffrey David and wife, Becky Adams, of Clearfield; Sandra Ella Stoddard, Layton; Lana McCowen, Clinton, Utah; Paula and husband, Scott Gardner, of Centerville; 24 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, two sisters, Jay T. Adams, Kaysville; Lane K. Adams, Clearfield; Ardell Adams, Layton, Vira Beus, Syracuse; Lavon Coop, Clearfield. Preceded in death by two brothers, Rex and Darel, and a grandson.

Funeral services, Tuesday, 11 a.m. at the Clearfield 1st LDS Ward, 326 Center St. Friends may call at the Lindquist Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 South State 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday at the church 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded.
