Gilbert Braithwaite Dedrickson, 91, of Spanish Fork, died Saturday, March 16, 1991 in the Mountain View Hospital in Payson from complications following surgery.

He was born June 18, 1899 in Spanish Fork, the son of Theodore Dale and Eleanor Braithwaite Dedrickson. He married Alberta Larsen, September 21, 1921 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She later passed away. He was educated in Spanish Fork schools. He worked with his father on the family farm. He later worked for Spanish Fork City on road maintenance and the electrical department, and later worked for the Salt Lake Army Base as a fireman from 1941 to 1946. He later went to work for the Utah State Road Commission as a heavy equipment operator for 20 years. He served as a Spanish Fork Volunteer Fireman, and received his 60 year pin. He also served as Fire Chief in Spanish Fork for a couple of years. He was a member of the LDS Church, was a High Priest, and served as a Temple Ordinance Worker in the Manti and Provo Temples for 13 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He loved the little children.Survived by three sons, one daughter, Ray G. Dedrickson, Spanish Fork; Elane Dyer, Fred L. Dedrickson, both Orem; Dan Lee Dedrickson, San Bernardino, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters, two brothers.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, 1 p.m. in the Spanish Fork 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 90 South Main. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. or Tuesday one hour prior to services, at Walker Mortuary, Spanish Fork. Burial, Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
