Three geology field trips offered through Southern Utah University spring quarter will offer outdoor study.
The first outing is scheduled for April 6 to the Beaver Dam Mountains. Volcanoes near Snow Canyon will be examined, and then fossil beds and formations on the southern side of the Beaver Dam Mountains will be visited.On April 20, participants will travel south along the Hurricane Fault, Silver Reef and Quail Creek Reservoir.
An overnight outing to the Marysvale area on May 17-18 will include examination of volcanoes, mineral deposits, old mines, ghost towns and the Sevier River system, Kennedy said.
Cost of the one-day trips is $12 each and for the overnight trip is $35. Geology credit is optional. For information call 586-7912.
