Two employee benefits insurance firms based in Salt Lake City have joined Corroon & Black of Utah following acquisition of the companies by parent company Willis Corroon plc.

"This first merger of the newly formed Willis Corroon marks a new stage in our company's history," said Richard M. Miller, chief executive of Willis Corroon, New York.Thomas D. Roseberry, president and chief executive of Corroon & Black of Utah, said of the merger: "They strengthen our operation and, in turn, our resources will enable them to provide enhanced services to their clients."

The mergers involving R.L. Colosimo & Associates and Naylor Benefits are the second expansion of Corroon & Black of Utah in a year. The mergers add six professional staff members and bring total C&B staff to 44 in Salt Lake City.

Willis Corroon plc is the world's fourth largest insurance broker. It was created last October when Corroon & Black Corp. merged with London-based Willis Faber plc.
