The Provo City Council will hold a public hearing tonight on the city's proposed contract with TCI Cablevision of Utah.
The contract outlines a number of improvements for cable service, including installation of a state-of-the-art system, service to all Provo homes on record and better picture quality. City and TCI officials worked on the proposed agreement for nearly a year.The council must formally adopt the contract before it becomes effective.
Also on the agenda for the 7 p.m. council meeting is a resolution to rename two streets in the Ironton Industrial Park.
During its 5:30 p.m. study meeting, the council will discuss compensation for city employees in the military activated for Operation Desert Storm. Also, council members will talk about public vs. private approaches to yard-waste recycling.
