Ballet West will be in California on Tuesday, March 19, to perform "Giselle" in the McCallum Theatre at the Bob Hope Cultural Center in Palm Desert. Their appearance will be part of a joint fund-raising event in support of the company and the Desert Horse Foundation, an organization dedicated to expanding and maintaining recreational trails in southern California.

The concert marks a return to Palm Desert for Ballet West; in January 1990 the company danced "Romeo and Juliet" to sold-out houses at the McCallum Theatre. "One of our major goals has been to broaden our base of support," said Susan Barrell, general manager of Ballet West, "and Palm Desert plays a key role in this effort."
