Reuban Don Bennett, age 83, died Sunday March 10, 1991 in a local care center.
He was born on November 4, 1907 in Evanston, Wyoming the son of Ernest F. and Emma Edith Homer Bennett. He married Juanita Moore on February 22, 1940. She preceded him in death on October 25, 1962. He married Billie Jane Idle on June 8, 1970 in Reno, Nevada; the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Bennett owned several businesses in Evanston, Rawlins, and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. After retirement, he and Billie moved to Missouri Ozarks where they owned a large farm. Mr. Bennett loved nature and God's creations and exercised loving stewardship over all he was responsible for. His family was his joy and he often commented, when surrounded by his loved ones, that this must surely be Heaven on earth. Mr. Bennett was a High Priest in the Woods Cross 4th Ward, Woods Cross East Stake.He is survived by his wife, Billie, Bountiful; one son, Larry Don, Redwood City, California; one daughter, Melissa Dawn Archibeque, Forsyth, Missouri; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Ernest T., St. George; William H., Jacksonville, Florida; Kathrine Ball, St. George; Lillian Willoughby, Cheyenne, Wyoming; and Blanche Bennett, Reno, Nevada. He was preceded in death by parents and brother Joe.
Funeral services will be held Saturday March 16, 1991 at 2 p.m. in the Woods Cross 4th Ward Chapel, 1450 South 350 West, West, Bountiful. Friends may call on Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. in the Russon Brothers-Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and at the Church on Saturday from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment: Centerville City Cemetery.
