Miya Iwata died March 11, 1991, in a Sandy hospital.
She was born April 26, 1895 in Hiroshima, Japan to father, Juhachiro Sasaki and mother, Chi Ishikawa. Came to United States and married Chubei Iwata, July 22, 1919. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966. She was a member of the Salt Lake Buddhist Church, Jordan Doshikai, Hiroshima Kenjinkai and the Mt. Olympus JACL.She is survived by four children, Mrs. Masaji (Tsuru) Imai, Roy; Mrs. Jim (Mary) Matsumori; and Mrs. Ryo (Michiye) Uchida; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, living in various parts of the United States from Boston to San Francisco, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Price and Winnetka, Illinois, as well as in the Salt Lake metropolitan area.
Funeral Friday Evening, 6 p.m., March 15, 1991, Salt Lake Buddhist Temple, 211 West 1st South. Burial: Mountain View Memorial Estates, Saturday morning, 10:30 a.m.
