Mary Bodil Paula Jensen, 91, died Monday, March 11, 1991 in an Ogden retirement center.

Born December 25, 1899 in Orum, Randers, Denmark, a daughter of Niels and Ane Margrethe Nielsen Jensen. Educated in Aarhus, Denmark, graduated from Telegraph School in 1920. While in Denmark she worked for the State Telephone & Telegraph Company until she emigrated to the United States in June, 1927. Started to work at ZCMI in Salt Lake City in the sales and audit department October, 1927. Attended LDS Business College to learn to operate Comptometer, after which she worked in the statistical department of ZCMI until retiring in 1969, after 40 years of service. She was called to serve an LDS Mission to Denmark in 1946 for two years, and was secretary to the mission president, Alma Petersen. Paula visited her homeland two times where she was able to see cousins and school friends. She moved to Ogden in 1970, where she was a member of the 4th LDS Ward. She was an active church member her whole life. She became a U.S. Citizen and has been admired by all those she associated with throughout her life for being self-sufficient.Surviving are, one sister, Asta J. Malan, Ogden; four nephews and two nieces, Robert T. Marz and wife, Pat, Ogden; Ben H. Malan and wife, Bonnie, Nigeria LDS Mission; Ned J. Malan and wife, Lawana, Ogden; Tim J. Malan and wife, Diane, Ogden; Margaret M. Chatterley and husband, Garth, Cedar City; Claudia M. Crawford and husband, Boyd, Ogden. Preceded in death by a sister, Frida J. Marz.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 12 Noon, Larkin & Sons Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, with Bishop Chester Bolingbroke, officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery 2 p.m.
