Bette Midler, riding high on her summer hit "Big Business," has agreed to extend her long-term contract with Disney's Touchstone Pictures for four more movies.

Midler's first three comedies for the studio before "Big Business" were all box-office successes: "Ruthless People" (1982), "Down and Out in Beverly Hills" (1986) and "Outrageous Fortune" (1987).Midler also will appear in the Touchstone productions of "Beaches" for producer Garry Marshall, scheduled for release this Christmas, and "Stella," based on the Samuel Goldwyn classic "Stella Dallas," due to begin production in November.
