Two men out on parole from Utah State Prison were charged Friday in 3rd Circuit Court with second-degree burglary, theft and theft by receiving stolen property. A third parolee was charged with theft by receiving.

Police suspect all three in theft of merchandise totaling more than $153,000. The burglaries and thefts took place last November and December. Two of the burglarized homes reported their losses at $95,000 and $31,000.Jack Quintana, 28, and Anthony Gallegos, 24, were both charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree theft and six counts of second-degree theft by receiving stolen property. Ruben Valdez, 33, was charged with six counts of theft by receiving.

According to court documents, Quintana and Gallegos were identified in a photo spread as being in the area at the time one of the burglaries and thefts occurred, and some of the items were later found in their possession.

Shortly after another theft, the stolen items were recovered at a nearby residence, the report stated.

On Dec. 14, Adult Probation and Parole agents discovered stolen items valued at more than $20,000 in the possession of the three men at 965 E. 1300 South.

All three suspects were returned to the Utah State Prison.
