Precipitation-hungry Utah may not be getting lots of moisture every day, but it is continuing to get some snow or rain in some areas.

And every little bit helps.Sundance, in Utah County, and Duck Creek, Kane County, received 2 inches of new snow; Clover, Tooele County, 1 1/2 inches; and Alta, a trace of snow Wednesday night and early Thursday. As of Thursday midmorning, Hurricane, Washington County, had received 0.22 inches of rain; Wendover, 0.19; Green River, Emery County; Kanab; Richfield and St. George, 0.06 each; Tooele, 0.02; and Rush Valley, Tooele County, 0.09 each; said Bob Cox, a weather service specialist at the Salt Lake office of the National Weather Service.

As of 10:30 a.m. Thursday the forecast called for a slight chance of light snow late Thursday afternoon and evening over the valleys and mountains of northwestern Utah.
